Your Journey to a Solar Lease
Agreement among Landowners
Confirm, if applicable, that co-owners of the land are agreeable to leasing it for solar energy production. This step is crucial to avoid any legal disputes or disagreements later in the process. It secures the consent required for a legally binding agreement.
Your role:
Actively communicate with other landowners and nominate a spokesperson to be the main contact for the investor, if applicable.
Conclude Lease Contract
Enter into a formal agreement with an investor or relevant party. This contract outlines the terms of the lease, including duration, compensation, and any specific conditions. It Establishes the legal foundation of the lease, providing a clear framework for both parties' rights and responsibilities for the next 20 to 30 years to come. After the approvals are granted it will be secured in the land register and cannot be cancelled anymore.
Your role:
Carefully review and negotiate terms with the investor.
Grid Connection and Feeding Request
Secure approval from the grid operator for connecting the solar installation to the power grid and for feeding in the electricity produced. This includes defining the exact location of the connection to the existing grid infrastructure. This ensures that the energy produced can be legally distributed, which is essential for the operational aspect of the project. If the connection point is too far from your location, this can mean a no-go for the investor as it is not possible economically.
Your role:
Provide the authorization to the investor to submit requests and provide all necessary documentation.
Planning Procedure
Initiate and receive approval for a Project-specific Development Plan from the local municipality. This plan outlines how the land will be used, considering local zoning laws and environmental regulations.
Your role:
From now on you can relax and sit-back, the remaining process is driven by the team of the investor with their great experience.
Building Permit
Obtain a building permit based on the approved Project-specific Development Plan. This permit is a legal requirement to start construction of the solar plant. It provides legal authorization for construction, confirming that the project adheres to all local building codes and regulations.
Construction
Select a construction company and oversee the building of the solar plant. This involves preparing the land, installing solar panels, and setting up connections to the power grid. This is the actual construction of the solar facility, turning your land into a sustainable energy source.
Project Completed
Complete the construction and commence the operation of the solar power plant, including feeding electricity into the grid.
Marks the culmination of your project, as your land starts producing renewable energy and contributing to a sustainable future.
Your role:
Make sure to receive your desired lease payment after the plant is connected to the grid.
